Here at Reno Concierge Coaching we strive to use the best tools possible to efficiently and effectively help you to help yourself. For the coaching process we use a progressive form of coaching called “Self-Empowerment Coaching”. By combining our Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes with our Self-Empowerment Coaching methodology we are able to generate very effective solutions for you through a perpetual series of conversations, discussions, and interactions.
Self-Empowerment Coaching is very different from traditional mentoring, consulting, teaching, and advice giving. Self-Empowerment Coaching is a directed conversation that specifically elicits your best thinking and decision making skills so that you can create and maintain results that are important to you. Self-Empowerment Coaching integrates various principles, skills, methods, and tools of coaching psychology which draws from many different domains and disciplines.
Our goal with our coaching methods are to help you develop an open and positive mindset and a heartfelt vision, as well as help you to lay down the building blocks necessary to navigate the challenging path of permanently changing your lifestyle behaviors. We will help you create results that are important to you, one step at a time, with each step determining the next. Your path is unique to you. We don’t put you into a cookie-cutter program. Very importantly, we approach you with the mindset that you are capable, creative and complete, so that you feel respected and do not fear failure. With Self-Empowerment Coaching there is no failure, only learning.
Our Self-Empowerment Coaching is based on the science of thinking and it produces repeatable results that have been proven over time. And the results you get will stay and multiply. Self-Empowerment Coaching helps enable you to do what you want to do but don’t know how to do, because we utilize an asset-based approach which focuses on your strengths, whereas the older model of a deficit-based approach focused on what was lacking or wrong. Research has shown us that the most efficient way to get the best performance is to build on your strengths, not to focus on your weaknesses. In the old model of a purely information driven approach coaches used to focus on limitations and then try to think up ways to correct them – often giving information about what to do and how to do it. Your “limitations” used to become the focus of attention because they presented problems that needed to be fixed. Unfortunately, your strengths and resources were ignored instead of being emphasized. Our asset-based approach maximizes human performance because it increases your abilities to learn in the present while also increasing your capacities to learn and make better choices, independently, in the future.
In addition to focusing on your strengths, we also sometimes are able to best help you to find your answers by “listening until we don’t exist” and by using powerful questions and perceptive reflections which leads you to confront your own beliefs and helps you to decide to take and sustain action. We often create very profound coaching relationships by talking less and listening more. When it comes to helping you get healthy the “expert talks, everyone listens” classic healthcare model is not always the best. We do need to give you proper information, but information alone won’t help you improve your life unless you figure out how to apply it. We have discovered that listening to what you need to be successful—and then helping you follow through—is sometimes the best way to help you improve your health.
By pondering and addressing great coaching questions, you will expand your thinking about important changes you need to make and the ways that you can best accomplish them. Our coaching methods allow you to work toward goals that are important to you and to help you to take charge of your challenges in personally tailored ways, thus increasing your ability to accomplish additional changes on your own in the future and ultimately leading toward a happier and more independently-healthy life in which you know what to do and how to do it and are completely empowered to take the best care of yourself.
