The foundation of all hypnotherapy and self-hynosis training that we do is the Ultra Depth® Staging Process. But before we explain the Ultra Depth® Staging Process we are going to explain hypnotherapy.
What is hypnotherapy? (What is a hypnotherapist?)
The U.S. (Department of Labor) Directory of Occupational Titles (D.O.T. 079.157.010) supplies this following definition for hypnotherapist:
“Hypnotherapist – Induces hypnotic state in client to increase motivation or alter behavior pattern through hypnosis. Consults with client to determine the nature of problem. Prepares client to enter hypnotic states by explaining how hypnosis works and what client will experience. Tests subject to determine degrees of physical and emotional suggestibility. Induces hypnotic state in client using individualized methods and techniques of hypnosis based on interpretation of test results and analysis of client’s problem. May train client in self-hypnosis conditioning.”
A more general description would be that hypnotherapy is a technique that uses the hypnotic state, which enables changes in perception and memory, a major increase in response to suggestion, and the potential for controlling many physiologic functions that are usually involuntary. Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a trance. Your attention is so focused while in this state that anything going on around you is temporarily blocked out or ignored. In this naturally occurring state, you may focus your attention—with the help of the hypnotherapist—on specific thoughts or tasks.
Hypnotherapy is usually considered an aid to psychotherapy (counseling), rather than a treatment in itself. It helps with psychotherapy because the hypnotic state allows you to explore painful thoughts, feelings, and memories that you might have hidden from your conscious mind. Hypnosis enables you to perceive some things differently, such as blocking an awareness of pain. Hypnotherapy is a treatment that is based on the premise that the mind and body do not work in isolation. By helping you into a hypnotic state, the hypnotherapist aims to trigger the body’s mental and physical self-healing processes that lie in the subconscious. Hypnotherapy can be extraordinarily successful where other forms of therapy have failed because it directly accesses that part of your the mind that is capable of identifying and fixing the problem, the deeper seated and more instinctive part, which we call your subconscious mind.
By applying specific therapeutic techniques, the hypnotherapist can then find the cause of the issue or problem and help you “reprogram” an unwanted behavior to create a new, more positive solution.
A hypnotherapist is merely a facilitator to help you hypnotize yourself (because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis) and use their expertise to help direct you in the most efficient and effective manner. A hypnotherapist is simply a “subconscious travel guide”. It’s not really “therapy” in the common sense of the word.
What is Self-Hypnosis?
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, meaning that the hypnotherapist is only a guide or catalyst to elicit the trance experience within you. The power of hypnosis resides in you, not in the hypnotherapist. What me mean when we say “Self-Hypnosis Training” is that we teach you how to work by yourself with your personal keywords (developed from the Ultra Depth® Staging Process) and how to work with yourself while experiencing the various hypnotic states so that you can be more independent and rely on yourself instead of relying on us or anyone else to help you reprogram your mind or resolve issues. Some issues and desires are more personal and better left to work on by yourself with privacy.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Scientists are not really sure how it works. The autonomic nervous system controls all the automatic functions of the body while we are asleep and it has been proven that words and suggestion can affect the central nervous system while we are awake.
Distracting the conscious mind causes a dissociation of the conscious and unconscious mind and is the first step in inducing hypnosis. There are many differing techniques a hypnotherapist can use to put you into hypnosis.
By talking to their clients in a soothing voice and getting them to visualise relaxing and monotonous situations, practitioners are able to send their clients into a state of very deep relaxation where they will still be aware of their surroundings but are very much more sensitive to suggestion.
Once the patient has closed their eyes, the hypnotherapist deepens the trance by suggesting to the conscious mind to daydream or relax. While the conscious mind is inactive the subject is likely to respond to all suggestions literally. Positive suggestions are then introduced and absorbed by the conscious mind.
When in this state, the patient’s subconscious can be ‘reprogrammed’ to deal with certain feelings in a different way and as such, hypnotherapy is not only very effective in the treatment of phobias, addictions, but it can also reduce stress and alleviate pain.
Hypnotherapy is most often used in two ways:
- Suggestion therapy — The hypnotic state makes you better able to respond to suggestions. Hypnotherapy can help some you change certain behaviors, such as to stop smoking or stop nail-biting. It can also help you change perceptions and sensations, and is particularly useful in treating pain.
- Analysis — This approach uses the relaxed state to find the root cause of a disorder or symptom, such as a traumatic past event that you have hidden in your subconscious memory. Once the trauma is revealed, it can be addressed in psychotherapy.
When is hypnotherapy not recommended?
Hypnotherapy is not generally advisable for mentally disturbed or psychotic patients. Some psychiatric professionals do use hypnotherapy in conjunction with orthodox treatments for patients with such conditions, but always within an institutional environment where other forms of treatment are also available.
Patients suffering from schizophrenia, bipolar conditions, suicidal tendencies, senility, alcohol or drug psychosis, pathological personalities or manic depression are generally advised not to undergo hypnotherapy. While hypnotherapy is useful in alleviating mild cases of depression, it is contra-indicated for manic depression and bipolar conditions.

Something very unique about our hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis training is the Ultra Depth® Process. We use this to set the foundation for everything that we do and this foundation is what we refer to as the “Staging Process”. If you have ever been to a hypnotherapist, you will probably have experienced that at every session, you were required to go through a relaxation process and the hypnotherapist would perform a relaxation induction. This could have taken 30-60 minutes just to get you into a medium hypnosis state before the hypnotherapist could begin doing any real work or give suggestions. And if you were unable to relax sufficiently that day, then the entire session was a waste of time and money. Or sometimes you couldn’t get deep enough and the suggestions from the hypnotherapist had no results.
The Staging Process that we use eliminates the need for further relaxation inductions -permanently. Once your brain is conditioned and you have trained yourself to respond to your keywords, you will find that you will instantly, without hesitation, return to the exact state of depth that is required for you accomplish the work that you seek to do. The Staging Process sets up shortcuts in the brain that save you time and effort and make the process extremely effective because you know, and we know, exactly how deep into hypnosis you will go with each keyword. This makes results achieveable, repeatable, and predictable. You will not find this kind of certainty with any other methods of hypnosis -it is a unique feature that belongs only to the Ultra Depth® Process.
The keywords can be used by you or anyone whom you give permission to. During hypnotherapy sessions, the hypnotherapist would be using your keywords, but for self-hypnosis work you may use them by yourself without any outside help. This is profound empowerment because you finally are given full control of your mind. You now have the knowledge and the tools to change how your mind works, you can re-program your brain computer, whenever and however you see fit. Also, you will find that in the deeper states such as the Sichort State, suggestions do not even need to be given in order for healing to occur.
The Staging Process enables you to be able to instantly induce analgesia, local anesthesia, or general anesthesia, thus making it possible for you to undergo minor or major surgery without the use of chemical anesthetics and without the risking the chance of “anesthesia awareness” taking place. These effects and many more can realistically be achieved by you and once staged, these skills are available for you to use for the rest of your life. And when you work on your self-hypnosis, there are many powerful techniques for you to use that can help you achieve stunning results with your body, mind, and spirit. Techniques that you can do by yourself, such as the SkyWalker Technique©, Cellular ReEducation Technique©, the Hallway of Doors Technique©, the Warehouse Technique© and many more.
Hypnotherapy and Self-Hypnosis Training, that are built on the foundation of the Ultra Depth® Process, are both very effective methods to help you work on such common aspects as:

Ultra Depth® has helped many clients undergo medical procedures – pain free! Thanks to Ultra Depth®, these people did not require the use of any dangerous chemical anesthetics. These procedures have included a liver transplant, D & C’s, laser surgery of the female cervix, birthings and various major and minor dental procedures. It has also helped clients with nerve deafness to improve their hearing. In another case, a 39 year old female afflicted with Grand Mal Epilepsy, within one year all of her seizures stopped and she was taken off three very powerful drugs that she had been taking for more than 20 years. Mr. Sichort even completely reversed and helped heal a girl with Polio.
We have found that the Ultra Depth® Process can be used for any situation that you may need to achieve self-healing. Ultra Depth® is ideal for physical, mental, emotional or even spiritual situations that may be challenging you. It is your own Subconscious who does the work necessary to facilitate the healing, not the practitioner. And the profound effects can be achieved with the help of someone else, or by yourself. Using the Ultra Depth® Process for hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis training puts you more in control of yourself than you have ever been.
