We have a cutting-edge business model that we developed after studying entrepreneurial physicians who use an innovative practice method known as “Concierge Medicine”. This new business model allows us to provide you with superior service for a more affordable price!
Concierge Coaching is our unique business model of delivering membership subscriptions for fitness and wellness coaching instead of similar business professionals who usually charge you by the hour or by the session.
For example, personal trainers and wellness coaches charge you by the session or sell packages of sessions; dieticians and nutritionists charge you by the hour or sell packages of hours; lifestyle coaches frequently just charge you by the hour.
Our approach is very different. We do NOT charge by the session. We do NOT charge by the hour. Instead, we charge one flat-rate, easily budgeted, monthly membership which allows for you to have the amount of desired access to your coach. You get all the time you need instead of watching the clock and overpaying for service.
Our fitness and wellness coaching provides you with components such as exercise coaching, nutrition coaching, healthy lifestyle coaching and behavior modification coaching all of which is combined into a single monthly membership that gives you access to communicate with your coach via telephone, email, video chat, and pre-scheduled in-person appointments.
We also work with a limited amount of clients at any one time. By keeping the amount of clients at a manageable level we have the time we need to devote to really helping our existing clients. And we never charge you additional fees or charges or by the session or by the hour. You just pay a one simple monthly membership subscription according to the amount of time that you need.
So how did we come up with this crazy idea called Concierge Coaching? Well, our business model was developed out of the business model offered by entrepreneurial physicians which is called “concierge medicine”.
Concierge medicine is an unfamiliar term for most people so don’t feel left out if you’ve never heard of it before. Concierge medicine is just a term used to describe a form of medicine in which a physician is contracted and paid directly by the patient for providing enhanced medical care. Typically payment is rendered as a monthly, quarterly, or annual membership fee. In return for direct payment, the patients receive enhanced service such as guaranteed same-day appointments, 24/7 access to the physician by cell phone and e-mail, house calls, and emergency room visits and hospitalizations as directed.
Wellness care and preventive care are very much the foundation of these physicians’ practices as this comprehensive approach to healthcare allows the extra time to address the unique needs of each patient. Concierge medicine restores order to the physician-patient relationship by removing the financial interests of the middleman (insurance companies). This simplified and cheaper financial relationship saves everyone money while greatly improving the quality of care.
Concierge physicians have the time they want and need so that they can treat their patients like people, not just another number or disease. They take the needed time to really help their patients. Visits may last an hour or two, or more if necessary –instead of 8 minutes like most other physicians. Concierge physicians also limit the number of patients that they work with (typically only 400 instead of 3000). They work for their patients, not for the insurance company. They get to know their patients when they are healthy, not just when they are sick. It’s very similar to the old-fashioned small town doctor model in which people have a personal relationship with their doctor. The patients decide to make a personal investment in their own healthcare.
Now, we aren’t physicians and there are only 2 concierge physicians in the Reno/Carson City area ( and we highly recommend them!). But their business model is a great idea. This model allows us to spend more time helping our clients like you so that we can give you the quality of service that you want and need.
The big problem with coaching topics such as nutrition, exercise and changing lifestyle behaviors is that it can be time intensive. Especially in the beginning. And if we charged by the hour, then people wouldn’t be able to afford to get the help that they need.
Like most of our clients, you probably also prefer to simply get the service you need instead of watching the clock and feeling rushed or forgetting to ask important questions because you were concerned about the time and the cost. That will never happen while you work with us. If you are panicked as you stare at a weird menu while you are on vacation and your mind fills with strange questions and concerns, all you have to do is pick up your phone and call your coach. It’s that easy. Support is always there for you.
Membership services are very ideal for a business like ours. You can easily budget our services since the cost is fixed. You know how much you are going to pay each month. It’s not an open tab. Phone service, TV service, Netflix, internet service, email service, website subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, etc. are all built on the concept of having members who pay a monthly subscription or membership fee and receive their desired level of access. So why shouldn’t it be that same for physicians, personal trainers, nutritionists and others who offer services that you may need? Maybe even the plumber should start offering a membership service…
As a side note…
You should try to have a little more empathy for your physician. We know many of them seem unfriendly and callous but we want you to understand the situation that makes them that way…
Many people get angry that their doctor doesn’t take the time to help them or seem to care about them. But keep in mind that most physicians became physicians because they wanted to help people. And unfortunately, they didn’t learn about running a business in medical school.
Here’s the situation that most physicians (probably your doctor too) are facing…
It is unknown to most people that the number of primary care physicians is on the decline. Today’s primary care physician sees an average of 20 to 40 patients each day, and oversees as many as 4,000 patients in all.
The level of medical care inherently suffers in a healthcare system where quantity supersedes quality, and physicians are allocated an average of only seven to fifteen minutes per exam. Many physicians today are burning out, getting fed up, leaving medicine altogether, and discouraging the next generation from entering medical school.
Today’s physicians see more patients, in less time and in a more hurried fashion, work longer days yet get paid less money, and then they have to justify and fight for every penny while they wait 60 days to 6 months in order to receive their payments from Medicare and private insurance companies.
Imagine how unfriendly you would be if you had to pay a full time staff, buy expensive medical supplies and maintain an office building, but you didn’t get paid for 6 months on the work that you did today and you had to float the expenses out of your own pocket? That’s why the bills that you get from your doctor are so ridiculously high. The doctor might only be able to collect 30% of it after he fights with the insurance companies for several months.
So now you have seen behind the curtain. It’s a bad situation…
